If you are familiar with the Mess-Free Ziploc Art that is perfect for babies and toddlers, this is a beautified version of the same. With a little creative additions, the little master piece that is created by those little hands can be turned into memorable keepsakes! This time I made two changes. I used canvas sheet instead of paper as I wanted it to last longer and instead of Ziploc, I have used cling wrap sheet.
My little one has enjoyed the Ziploc art every time we did it. The process of poking at, smacking and rubbing the little paint globules through the sheet of plastic gives him a sense of joy. And at the end of it all, when those tiny hands and the floor are spotless and paint free... or what joy for us as Mums too!! :D
I just loved how my son's canvas art turned out! I am going to get it framed and hang it up on the wall. It is pretty easy to put together and am sure you and you little bunny will enjoy the process too.
Things Needed
Canvas Sheet
Cardboard Sheet, slightly bigger than the canvas sheet.
Water Colours
Paint Brush
Cling Wrap Sheet
Fevicol MR
Cello Tape
- To begin with, on the blank canvas, using the glue tube as writing tool, do your little art work. Whatever you would like to... maybe your child's name, a picture, just a heart, a message... anything! I did a combo of my son's name and a son to go with the name :)
- Allow the glue to completely dry. It may take several hours. But don't rush the process. Its very important that the glue completely dries off!
- Once the glue has dried up, tape the canvas sheet onto the cardboard sheet.
- Then using the paint brush, drop dollops of different colours of undiluted water colours all over the canvas sheet.
- Carefully cover the canvas sheet with a cling wrap sheet, trying not to disturb the dollops of paint too much, in the process. Secure the ends well under the cardboard sheet.
- Now the fun part!! Hand it over to the Mini and let them go crazy with the pressing, rubbing, smacking and stroking of the paint globules through the cling wrap sheet! :)
It actually looks therapeutic! Oh, those pudgy fingers! :)
- Ensure every bit of the canvas sheet and the art work you earlier created is covered with colour.
Chip in to help spread the paint if needed and have fun too! :)
- Once the canvas sheet looks something like this, its time to stop the art attack! :)
- Carefully remove the cling wrap sheet off the canvas sheet and also the cello tape securing the canvas sheet to the cardboard sheet.
- Allow the paint to completely dry.
- Now for the magic! Carefully, remove the glue art work, off the canvas. Be very careful not to ruin the canvas sheet by trying to rip off the glue too fast.
- If you do see some bits of the canvas coming off too along with the glue, just use tiny bits of white paint to hide the scars.
Ta-da! your master piece is ready! Isn't is gorgeous! I fell in love with my son's little creation.
I hope you liked the process and enjoy making one with your little one too :)
