Hands and Feet Print Keepsake Art | Toddler Art

I am huge HUGE fan of creating memories and preserving them creatively. After all, its only memories we are left with at the end of the day, so lets make them last as best as we can!

Ever since my little boy is in my life, keepsake arts and craft have interested me greatly. I have been looking for different ways in which I can preserve his precious baby-ness forever creatively. Such an art and craft project is a lovely way to spend quality time with your little one and in the process create some priceless keepsakes.

There are tonnes of ideas that are available on Pinterest, and I have shortlisted quite a few ones that I plan to do with my boy. To start with, we did this simple hands and feet printing art project.

This is a super simple and fun project to do with your little ones. It takes very little time and is perfect to do with younger toddlers whose patience level is minimal :)

All you need is some water colours, a painting brush, a plate to mix in some water colours and chart paper.
  • First keep the white chart paper ready.
  • Pour in little bit of paints of different colours onto the plate and mix with a little bit of water, not making it too dilute.
  • Get hold of one of those pudgy little palms and place it on the paint plate ensuring the palm is completely covered with paint and then place it on the white chart paper with the gentlest movements possible (I know how difficult this is with a fidgety little toddler! So a little mess is absolutely OK :) it just adds on to the memory! )
  • Now get that palm washed and dried and do the similar painting and stamping process with the feet to form a 'V' shape on the chart paper as shown in the pic.
  • Allow to completely dry and then complete the art work by painting in the 'L' and 'e' to make the word 'Love' !
That's it! You have a 'LOVE'ly keepsake art with your child's adorable little hand and feet prints. Get that framed already! :)
